What is 550 Thread Count?

Many people purchase bedding without even realizing what the thread count means. In technical terms, the thread count equals the number of threads which are sewn together in each square inch. You would count both lengthwise and widthwise. For example, if there were 100 threads across and 100 threads up and down, that produces a thread count of 200. So a 550 thread count means that there are 275 threads lengthwise and 275 threads widthwise.

A circular tablecloth is one that fits a round table. However, these can sometimes be hard to measure. So to find out what size tablecloth you need, you need to measure the length and the width of your round table. With a round table, the length and width will be the same. Then you need to add the drop length which is the part that hangs over the sides. You would measure from the top of the table down to how far you wanted to hang off the sides. Multiply this number times two and add that to the total diameter. As a general rule, if you have a table is 48 inches in diameter, a 72 inch round tablecloth will work fine.
