The woman who led Garden City Community College through a decade of expansion has retired, saying she needs to focus on her health. Sixty-two-year-old president Carol Ballantyne told the school’s Board of Trustees of her decision Tuesday night.

Local Garden is Feeding Several Arklamiss Organizations

The Peoples Garden is part of a national effort to get the United States in better shape by emphasizing the importance of healthy living.  The garden sits at the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry in Monroe.  Two acres make up the garden and every single piece of produce picked will be donated to various charities.
