Sand Rock proved to be a much better team than Spring Garden coach Ricky Austin had anticipated and the Wildcats defeated Austin’s Panthers 66-20 at Spring Garden Saturday.

Last week was a difficult one for the Spring Garden girls. Of more concern than the area losses to Cedar Bluff and Asbury were the extent of scoring leader Tara Mullinax’s knee injury and the as yet undiagnosed illness of point guard Jordan Sides.

Recently, members of the Estero Island Garden Club met at the Fort Myers Beach Library to decorate the Christmas tree and put up wreaths and other Christmas decorations all around the library.

Jason Kidd met for three hours with Knicks officials early Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. Kidd, the veteran free agent point guard, gave Dallas the first crack at talking to him when he met with Mavs owner Mark Cuban just after midnight.
