The fifth annual Forest Hills Garden Tour is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 10, west of Forest Hill between Fulton and Cascade, across from the Fine Arts Center. Maps are available at the neighborhood pool, near Greenbrier and Forest HiIl.

The city received a $1.25 million gift to fund the upkeep of two of Balboa Park’s gardens, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders announced Thursday. As an alternative school, Garden Park offers resources for high school students in Fremont, Custer and Pueblo counties. Located at Sixth Street and Macon Avenue, attendance at the school generally runs around 100.

Members of the Short Hills Garden Club have decorated the Community Garden on Church Street with seasonal greens. The Community Garden has vegetable, herb, flower and berry plots, which are maintained by township residents on land owned by the Neighborhood Association and coordinated by the club.
